Job Description:

St. Mary Catholic School is seeking a highly skilled Literacy Specialist to join our team.. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in literacy education and be passionate about helping students improve their reading and writing skills. The Literacy Specialist will work with students in all grades and abilities to develop individualized literacy plans, provide targeted instruction, and track progress over time. Additionally, the Literacy Specialist will collaborate with teachers, parents, and other stakeholders to ensure that students receive the support they need to succeed.

Qualifications:

Strongly Preferred

Strong command of the research of the Science of Reading.

Elementary or middle school teaching experience.

Advanced degree in Reading.

Current Michigan Teaching certificate (elementary or middle school)

Understanding of Michigan Administrative Rules of Special Education (MARSE),

Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, and Americans with Disabilities Act.

Ability to multitask, prioritize and meet deadlines.

Preferred

● Experience in supporting behavior intervention plans

● Experience with assistive technology applications.
