Senior Electronics Engineer – Medical Devices

Key Responsibilities:

Design and develop electronic circuits for implantable medical devices in collaboration with mechanical and software teams.

Architect and assess technical concepts for feasibility and innovation.

Translate system-level and user requirements into detailed electronic subsystem and interface specifications.

Develop systems in compliance with medical standards and regulations.

Drive functional analysis and create system architectures that meet performance and safety requirements.

Collaborate with and manage external partners involved in design, assembly, and testing.

Lead integration efforts, including process development for electronics within the broader system.

Define and implement verification strategies for product and manufacturing validation.

Lead the creation of test systems for both design verification and production testing.

Apply risk management tools such as DFMEA and lead formal design and technical reviews.

Participate in system integration, verification, and validation phases.

Apply DFR/DFM/DFT principles and perform relevant modeling, analysis, and statistical assessments.

Your Background:

Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electronics Engineering.

6+ years of experience in electronics development within a regulated medical device environment.

Fluent in English; additional fluency in Spanish is a plus.

Proficient in PCB and electronics design per IPC standards.

Experience across the full development lifecycle: design, manufacturing, verification, and validation.

Strong system-thinking approach and collaborative mindset.

Skilled in design tools and methodologies (e.g., Altium, SPICE).

Experienced in risk analysis, including FMEA.

Proven ability to manage external partners and outsourced development work.

Familiar with verification planning and execution, including statistical validation.

Solid understanding and application of relevant standards (e.g., IEC 60601 series).

Preferred Experience:

Background in electronics for active implantable medical devices (ISO 14708).

Experience with MRI compatibility design and testing.

Familiarity with wireless communication and wireless charging systems.

Understanding of cross-disciplinary development involving mechanical and software design.

Interest or experience in the neuroscience field.
