Senior Azure Cloud Engineer – 5-Month Contract – Groningen

Are you a seasoned Azure Cloud Engineer with a strong focus on security and automation? Join our clients's Information Audit project, where you'll play a key role in strengthening and optimizing cloud environments in preparation for future external security audits.

This assignment supports the ongoing information security improvement initiative following an external audit. The goal is to ensure the availability, integrity, and security of Hanze's digital infrastructure meets the required maturity level. You'll contribute directly to optimizing cloud services and implementing security measures as part of a complex Azure-based digital transformation.

You'll work within a multidisciplinary, Agile/ITIL-based environment to support the cloud transition and reinforce information security. Activities include improving Azure governance, setting security baselines, strengthening monitoring and logging, and implementing automation to future-proof cloud services. Your exact focus will align with your expertise.

Key Skills:

5+ years designing, implementing, and managing Microsoft Azure environments

Experience with CI/CD (Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions)

Scripting experience with PowerShell and/or Python

Knowledge of governance, security baselines, and policy management in Azure

Experience with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Sentinel

Familiarity with Zero Trust architecture

Independent, solution-oriented, and pragmatic approach

Agile/DevOps team experience

Fluent in Dutch

Microsoft certifications (AZ-104, AZ-305, AZ-500) are a plus
