Summary:
River Point Farms is seeking a [Swing Shift] Production Shift Manager to oversee employees and processes with a focus on safety, food safety, quality, operational efficiencies, cost management, employee engagement, and continuous improvement. The Production Manager creates and executes the shift's plan to process product within quality specifications and the required timelines.
Responsibilities:
Optimize the performance of processes during the assigned shift per established KPIs and company goals.
Report and analyze KPI status for each processing area, and present action plans.
Execute operating manufacturing systems at the Plant.
Utilize Lean and Six Sigma tools to lead and execute progress as well as proposing and leading continuous improvement projects.
Maintain and propose visual management methods to communicate the shift's progress with shift employees.
Execute the production schedule ensuring production tasks are correctly assigned to each department to meet customer & quality specifications, and shipping timelines.
Confirm pest control and facility hygiene practices are executed and performed in accordance with Department of Pesticide Regulations (DPR) regulations. Oversee submission of the monthly fumigation report.
Monitor by-product quantities and coordinate with vendors to ensure timely removal.
Coach, mentor and develop a high-performing team.
Manage labor and other needs in accordance with the Annual Operational Expenditures (Opex) budget.
Ensure food safety and quality standards are achieved or exceeded at each process in accordance with the site's British Retail Consortium (BRC) Certification, Safe Quality Food (SQF) and other certifications.
Improve job-task and employee safety; lead by example and empower employees to work safely and eliminate work-related injuries.
Ensure Job Safety Analyses are up-to-date and used to train employees in new/unfamiliar job tasks.
Perform training to establish knowledge and to meet or exceed the company's OSHA requirement goals.
Lead the Safety Observations Program, which includes motivating employees to submit observations and follow-up on decisions regarding the observations.
Ensure proper root-cause investigations incident reports are completed in a timely manner.
Communicate safety trends to continuously improve safety performance. Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, engineering, or related field, and/or work experience equivalent.
3+ years experience supervising teams in food processing/production environments with knowledge in the areas of processing, warehousing, quality assurance, inventory management, people management and chemical application.
Understanding of lean manufacturing principles/processes.
Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations such as OSHA.
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, probability, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
Excellent, interpersonal, problem solving, conflict resolution, organizational, leadership and communication skills.
Bilingual Spanish ability.
Valid driver's license.
Ability to perform all essential duties on rotating shifts (day, swing, and night) and work long hours, which may include weekends and/or holidays, to meet business needs.
Swing Shift is approximately 5:00pm - 2:00am
