Strategic Sourcing Agent

The Sourcing Agent for Chemicals is responsible for researching and developing purchasing arrangements of specialty and commodity chemicals primarily for Business Development, industrial and pharma customers. This role works closely with our global Sales and Product Management teams to provide rapid response to customer requests for quote of new or existing products.

Responsibilities:

Source chemicals based on customer requests for quotes and orders. This includes developing new sources and maintaining relationships with existing approved suppliers.

Chemicals to be sourced include specialty chemicals, fine chemicals, intermediates, and pharmaceutical ingredients. Additionally, other materials may be sourced as needed.

Manage supplier qualification in alignment with MP Bio's ISO procedures.

Create a competitive sourcing advantage for MP Bio by vetting potential and existing suppliers to ensure they can provide reliable quality documentation and a sustainable supply chain that is transparent.

Negotiate price, terms, and delivery with both domestic and international suppliers, manage delivery of chemicals and resolve supplier issues.

Issue requisitions and purchase orders as required based on sales orders and stocking strategy.

Other duties as assigned or evolve Education and Experience:

BS/BA in Chemistry, Biology. preferred.

entry-level, prior 1+ year experience in chemical sourcing for Life Science company, or comparable industry will be preferred.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Must be able to meet deadlines, work in a fast-paced environment with motivation and a results-oriented approach.

Stable work history required Working Relationships:

Position reports to the Associated Supply Chain Manager in Training

No reporting relationships.

Works alongside other purchasing and planning personnel.
