Summary:
The Sourcing Manager II is responsible for identifying and qualifying suppliers/products for Indirect categories inclusive of CAPEX, Facilities Services, Facility Mobile Equipment and assigned MRO items utilizing category management methodology. Key aspects of sourcing include understanding of global supplier base and internal needs, conducting supplier/product exploration and qualification, strategic sourcing, price negotiation and contract management, supplier relationship management, conducting appropriate sourcing events to drive cost reduction opportunities, identification and mitigation of supply risks.
Responsibilities:
Developing and executing global category management strategy, and delivering on agreed-upon key metrics to ensure optimal cost, quality, and delivery performance
Generating and managing new project and productivity ideas based on strategic analysis and developing new sources of supply to support short-term and long-term business strategy
Developing, supporting and maintaining specifications and driving supplier corrective action along with Product Management, Technology, Quality and other stakeholders
Participating in business planning and performance workshops with key supplier partners to optimize Supplier Relationship Management
Leading contract negotiations in conjunction with legal and key strategic suppliers to achieve cost, quality, and delivery targets
Generating and managing new project and productivity ideas based on strategic analysis
Partnering with global peers to generate global supply strategy and extract maximum value
Managing and developing tracking initiatives related to purchasing activities for metric reporting
Supporting the HarbisonWalker Business System (HBS) including 5S by identifying and implementing opportunities for continuous process improvement as metrics warrant Requirements:
The Sourcing Manager II requires a track record of delivering high impact results and two (2) - four (4) years of professional experience with commodities purchasing including high level negotiation experience within manufacturing, writing contracts and managing categories with a minimum of $50 million annual spend.
B.S. degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, Engineering, Science, or related field
SPSM (Senior Professional in Supply Management) Certification Required
CPM (Certified Purchasing Manager) Certification or CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management) Certification a plus
Requires computer operation skills including, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and advanced PowerPoint expertise
Requires strong interpersonal and communications skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment
Requires strong analytical skills and the ability to assemble and quickly analyze data
