RESPONSIBILITIES:

Tasks listed below and are not an exhaustive list of all the tasks that may be required for this position.

The Compliance Specialist's duties and responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:

We are seeking a Compliance Specialist to:

Ensure full compliance with local, state, and federal housing regulations, with a particular focus on Workforce Housing programs and the Florida Live Local Act.

Monitor, audit, and review compliance-related documents and tenant files to verify accuracy, eligibility, and adherence to applicable program guidelines.

Provide ongoing training and guidance to property teams regarding compliance requirements and best practices.

Collaborate with leasing and property management teams to ensure all leasing activities meet program standards.

Prepare, review, and submit compliance reports to government agencies and funding sources within required timeframes.

Conduct internal audits and participate in external agency audits, ensuring corrective actions are documented and completed as needed.

Manage and document incident reporting across properties, ensuring timely communication, accurate recordkeeping, and follow-through on resolution procedures.

Stay current on changes in affordable housing legislation and compliance updates affecting program administration.

Assist with the implementation of policies and procedures that support affordable housing goals and ensure operational consistency.

Maintain knowledge and documentation of Area Median Income (AMI) limits, utility allowances, and income qualification processes.Act as the primary liaison with clients, local housing authorities, compliance monitoring agencies, and regulatory partners.

Support lease-ups for Workforce Housing projects and ensure compliance from initial occupancy through annual recertification.

Other duties as assigned. WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work in an office environment with periodic on-site visits to managed communities and client communication.

Must be able to view computer screens and other electronic equipment, paper reports, and journals for extended periods of time where visual strain may result.

Occasional travel may be required to attend business meetings, training classes, or other situations necessary for the accomplishment of some or all the daily responsibilities of this position. OTHER KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Strong understanding of affordable housing programs including Workforce Housing, and Live Local Act regulations.

Human centric communication and professional client conversations.

High attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and reporting.

Strong Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft program knowledge

Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex regulations clearly.

Ability to multi-task and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and property management software (OneSite/RealPage experience preferred).

Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

Demonstrated problem-solving and organizational skills. WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Minimum of 3-5 years experience in affordable or workforce housing compliance.

Familiarity with Florida's Live Local Act and workforce housing initiatives is required.

Experience managing Multifamily compliance across multiple markets, properties and unit types preferred.
