Job Summary
The QC Inspector ensures the quality and accuracy of fabricated materials by performing inspections and verifying compliance with project specifications, codes, and standards. The role involves inspecting welds, dimensions, and painted surfaces, maintaining inspection records, and addressing discrepancies to uphold quality standards.
Job Description
Inspect shop fabrication, including welds, dimensions, and finishes
Verify materials meet specifications, codes, and drawings
Record inspection results and maintain quality documentation
Identify and address discrepancies in drawings or fabrication
Collaborate with shop personnel and customer inspectors
Provide guidance on codes, drawings, and specifications

3+ years of related experience as QC Inspector
Vocational training or certifications (e.g., CAWI, AWS-CWI, SCWI, or CWB) preferred
Strong understanding of AISC and AWS codes, inspection requirements, and welding techniques
Proficient in reading blueprints and technical documents
Integrity, problem-solving, time management, and action-oriented mindset
Strong technical skills and attention to detail
Effective communication and active listening
MS W Tools & Software:
Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Bluebeam, and bar code scanning tools Education/Training/Certifications
High school diploma or equivalent with 3+ years of related experience
AWS-CWI preferred, knowledge of welding and bolting standards essential Additional Requirements
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Work in varied environments (dusty, noisy, hot, cold).
Regularly stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and lift to 50 lbs.
Ability to use safety equipment (hard hat, steel-toe boots, etc.)
Exposure to fumes, heat, and loud noise; safety is a priority
Shift Hours:
1 st Shift, Monday to Friday 6:00 am - 2:30 pm, or 6:00 am - 4:30 pm (Saturday - as needed) Pay Rate/Salary
$28.00 - $30.00/hr.
