Description

The Human Resources Manager is a strategic and operational leader responsible for overseeing all aspects of human resources for the organization. This role ensures the company's HR practices support business goals, maintain strict compliance with evolving labor laws, and foster a high-performance, values-driven culture. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of HR expertise, leadership, and emotional intelligence to proactively manage people operations and drive positive organizational outcomes.

Location & Details:

Reports to: CFO

Full-time (40+ hours/week; flexible schedule)

Work Locations: Longmont and Mead, CO offices, with occasional remote work flexibility

Supporting 5-10 states

Travel: 15%-25%, as needed About Us:

Key responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership & Culture

Serve as the HR lead for the organization, partnering with executive leadership to align HR strategies with company objectives.

Champion a people-first, safety-conscious culture that reflects NG Companies' core values and supports employee engagement and retention.

Work with leadership team to drive initiatives that strengthen company culture, communication, inclusion, and leadership development.

Compliance & Risk Management

Ensure full compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.

Maintain and audit HR policies, employee handbook, and practices to ensure regulatory alignment and operational consistency.

Serve as the company's point of contact for legal counsel on employment-related matters.

Oversee investigation and resolution of employee relations issues, complaints, and grievances in a thorough, timely, and confidential manner.

HR Operations & Administration

Lead and optimize the full HR lifecycle, including workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and off-boarding.

Oversee HRIS administration, ensuring accuracy, reporting functionality, and process automation.

Develop and maintain standardized procedures for hiring, promotions, discipline, and terminations.

Design and implement HR metrics and dashboards to monitor key indicators such as turnover, time-to-hire, retention, compliance, and engagement.

Talent Development & Retention

Build and administer performance management systems, including goal setting, feedback loops, annual reviews, and succession planning.

Coordinate learning and development initiatives across all levels of the company, from frontline orientation to supervisory and leadership training.

Conduct stay interviews and exit interviews to provide actionable insights to leadership. Compensation, Benefits & Workforce Planning

Evaluate and administer compensation and benefit programs to ensure competitiveness and compliance.

Collaborate with finance and operations to align workforce plans with business forecasts and budget objectives.

Lead annual benefit renewals, open enrollment, and vendor relations.

Requirements

5+ years of progressive HR experience, with 2+ years in an HR leadership or Generalist role

Strong knowledge of employment law and compliance (FMLA, FLSA, ADA, EEO, OSHA, etc.)

HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR)

High proficiency with Microsoft Office and HRIS platforms

Demonstrated experience building or maintaining an HR department in a fast-paced, multi-site environment Preferred:

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field

Industry experience in construction, field services, or skilled trades

Experience with Paylocity and NetSuite

Experience conducting training sessions, coaching leaders, and implementing culture-building initiatives Skills and Competencies:

Strategic mindset with ability to translate business needs into HR strategies

Strong interpersonal and communication skills at all levels of the organization

High emotional intelligence, confidentiality, and professionalism

Ability to lead change, influence outcomes, and resolve conflict

Organized, process-driven, and detail-oriented

Adept at balancing compliance, culture, and business performance Physical Demands:

Prolonged periods working on a computer

Ability to lift 15 pounds

Salary Range: $90,000 - $110,000 DOE
