Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Civil Earthwork and Environmental Remediation Project Manager to lead and oversee civil earthwork construction and environmental remediation projects throughout the Southeast USA. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record managing field operations and executing complex earthwork and environmental remediation scopes, including landfill construction and capping, mass grading, stormwater systems, and water utility installations. This dual-role position requires strong leadership, technical knowledge, and a hands-on approach to ensure projects are delivered safely on schedule, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage day-to-day field operations and project execution for multiple civil construction and environmental remediation projects.
Oversee and coordinate earthmoving activities, site grading, landfill cap installations, handling/managing contaminated soil and water, and stormwater/water utility installations.
Supervise and schedule crews, subcontractors, equipment, and materials to optimize field productivity.
Interpret engineering plans, specifications, and regulatory requirements to ensure quality and compliance.
Serve as the primary on-site point of contact, liaising with clients, inspectors, vendors, and internal teams.
Monitor and maintain safety standards and ensure compliance with all OSHA and company safety protocols.
Attend bid walk and assist in proposal development
Track project progress, costs, and schedules; provide regular updates and reports to senior management.
Identify field issues proactively and implement effective solutions to maintain project momentum.
Travel to project sites throughout the Southeast as needed. Qualifications:
Minimum of 7 years of progressive field supervision and project management experience in civil construction, with a focus on:
Earthmoving and mass excavation
Landfill construction and final cover systems
Stormwater drainage systems and waterline installation
Proven experience managing multi-disciplinary field teams and subcontractors.
Proven Experience as Equipment Operator and Field Foreman.
Strong knowledge of civil construction practices, materials, equipment, and safety regulations.
Proficient in reading and interpreting civil plans, construction drawings, and project specifications.
Familiarity with GPS/Survey layout equipment and construction scheduling software is preferred.
Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel regularly across job sites in NC and SC.
40 Hour HAZWOPER certification/OSHA 30-hour certification (or ability to obtain) preferred. Compensation & Benefits:
