Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled SATCOM Operator to join our international faith-based organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining satellite communication systems to ensure seamless and reliable communication services all across the globe. This is a volunteer/supported position and a member of the Information & Digital Technologies team reporting to the Technology Infrastructure Manager.

Position Responsibilities

Operate and monitor satellite communication systems, including ground stations and satellite terminals.

Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of SATCOM equipment to ensure optimal performance.

Configure and manage satellite links to support various communication needs.

Monitor signal quality and take corrective actions to resolve any issues.

Collaborate with network engineers and other technical staff to integrate SATCOM systems with existing networks.

Maintain detailed logs and documentation of system performance and maintenance activities.

Provide technical support and training to end-users as needed.

Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in satellite communication technology. Position Requirements

Proven experience as a SATCOM Operator or in a similar role.

Strong knowledge of satellite communication systems and equipment.

Experience with RF (radio frequency) technology and signal processing.

Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Certified Satellite Communications Professional) are a plus.
