Position Overview
The Hearth Salesperson plays a vital role in connecting customers with the best hearth and fireplace solutions for their homes. Based at our Hometown Hearth showroom, this position focuses on building strong customer relationships, understanding needs, recommending products, and supporting a seamless sales process from inquiry to installation. The ideal candidate is personable, detail-oriented, and enthusiastic about helping customers find the perfect fit for their home. Training and industry certification opportunities are available for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver an exceptional customer experience from initial contact to post-sale follow-up
Educate customers on available products, features, and installation processes to help them make informed decisions
Execute the Chimney Cricket proprietary sales process, maintaining accuracy and consistency
Work collaboratively with internal teams to ensure smooth project scheduling and communication
Respond to customer inquiries via phone, email, and in-person showroom visits in a timely, professional manner
Assist with showroom maintenance, merchandising, and promotional activities
Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and sales activities in CRM systems
Contribute to ongoing improvements in the showroom experience and sales processes
Position Requirements
1+ years of experience in sales, retail, or customer service (hearth, construction, or home improvement industries preferred)
Personable and professional communication skillsboth written and verbal
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to learn and apply product knowledge related to fireplaces, stoves, and chimney systems
Comfort using digital platforms, including Google Suite, CRM software, and mobile devices
Positive attitude, team spirit, and willingness to grow with the company
High School diploma or equivalent required; college coursework or degree preferred
Ability to work in-person at the showroom, including Saturday hours as part of the regular schedule, especially during peak seasons.
Compensation & Benefits
Base Pay: $24.00 - $26.00 per hour + commission opportunities
Paid Time Off: PTO starts after 90 days of employment and is pro-rated for the first year
Paid Holidays: After 90 days of employment
Medical/Dental Insurance: 80% coverage for individual plans after 90 days
Retirement Plan: Company matches up to 3% after 1 year
Training and Certification: Industry training and certification available to support your growth
