Job Summary: The Infection Preventionist Team Lead will oversee NHSN data reporting and HAI surveillance efforts, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and driving improvements in patient safety.
This role involves strategic planning, data analysis, and collaboration with healthcare teams to reduce healthcare-associated infections (HAIs). The Team Lead will serve as a subject matter expert (SME) in NHSN protocols and reporting, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
Key Responsibilities: * Guide the identification of HAI cases within NHSN protocols, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with CDC guidelines.
* Conduct comprehensive HAI (Healthcare-Associated Infection) surveillance, including data collection, analysis, and reporting, to identify trends and drive targeted interventions.
* Provide education and training to staff on NHSN protocols, HAI definitions, and surveillance methodologies.
* Provide infection prevention education, consultation, and rounding in high harm units.
* Develop and maintain infection prevention standard work aligned with NHSN standards.
* Serve as a resource and advisor during outbreak investigations, leveraging NHSN tools and data for effective response planning.
Qualifications: * Bachelor's Degree is required.
Master's Degree is preferred.
Bachelor's degree in nursing, Microbiology, Epidemiology, or a related field.
* 7-10 years healthcare infection prevention and control experience required.
* Large system regional infection prevention experience preferred.
* CIC Required, CPHQ Preferred, LSSGB or equivalent preferred.
* Expertise in NHSN data reporting and HAI surveillance preferred.
Preferred Skills: * Proficiency in NHSN protocols and reporting tools.
* Experience in mentoring and coaching team members.
