About the Plans
Sponsored by the United Farm Workers of America (UFW), our Plans provide essential benefits to farmworkers and their families.
Medical Plan: Covers approximately 2,500 active participants and their eligible dependents, offering medical, dental, and vision benefits.
Pension Plan: Supports over 1,500 active participants, 4,700 retired pensioners, and beneficiaries.
Self-Administered: The Plans do not contract with third-party administrators and serve more than 25 contributing employers.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in overseeing daily operations, staff management, and benefit administration.
Develop and monitor policies, procedures, and performance standards.
Ensure compliance with ERISA, DOL, IRC, and other relevant regulations.
Support plan design, interpretation, and implementation.
Collaborate with trustees, legal counsel, and regulatory bodies as needed.
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum 5 years of experience managing operations within a multi-employer Taft-Hartley fund or a similar collective bargaining organization.
Extensive knowledge of pension and health & welfare benefit plans, including compliance with ERISA, HIPAA, HITECH, ACA, PPA, and DOL regulations.
Strong background in plan administration, policy development, and regulatory adherence.
Education Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Business Process Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Compensation & Benefits
Competitive salary. $85,000 to $105,000 per year.
Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage with no employee contribution and low deductibles for the Assistant Administrator, spouse, and eligible dependents.
