Job Summary:

A leading homebuilder in the Houston area is seeking an experienced and highly motivated FP&A Manager to lead its financial planning and analysis function. This role is responsible for overseeing forecasting, budgeting, and strategic financial analysis that directly impacts the company's growth and profitability. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, deep financial expertise, and a solid background in the homebuilding or real estate development industry.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage the annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes

Build and maintain complex financial models to drive strategic decision-making

Perform in-depth analysis of financial data to identify trends, risks, and growth opportunities

Collaborate across departments to align financial plans with operational goals

Lead monthly reporting processes, including variance analysis and executive dashboards

Identify and implement improvements to financial processes, systems, and reporting accuracy

Support investment analysis, including land acquisitions, community expansions, and M&A activity

Mentor and develop FP&A team members, promoting continuous improvement and team growth

Required Skills & Abilities:

Expert-level financial modeling and analytical skills

Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency; experience with financial software (OneStream a plus)

Strong understanding of GAAP, financial statement analysis, and management reporting

Ability to work cross-functionally and influence at all organizational levels

Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills

Proven leadership ability and team development experience

High attention to detail, results-driven mindset, and strong problem-solving skills

Able to manage multiple priorities independently and effectively

Committed to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace

Education & Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (MBA or advanced degree preferred)

6+ years of FP&A experience, including 2+ years in a leadership role

2+ years of experience in the homebuilding or real estate development industry
