Direct Support Professional Caregiver

Job Description

Job Summary:

As a DSP, you will support individuals with developmental disabilities and other special needs by assisting with daily living activities, promoting independence, and fostering a safe, supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.

Support clients in household activities, including meal preparation, cleaning, and laundry.

Facilitate participation in community activities and social events.

Encourage and assist clients in developing independent living skills.

Administer medications and document care as directed.

Provide emotional support and companionship.

Maintain accurate records and report any changes in client condition.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience in caregiving or working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (if required for the role).

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
