Jira Administrator

Compensation:

$45/hr to $55/hr.

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Day to Day

An aerospace manufacturing employer is looking for a Jira Administrator/Proposal Analyst to join their team in East Hartford, CT. This position is supports the Advanced Engineering Programs with a shared goal of increased collaboration across their environments to drive business goals. The team is responsible for the collaborative Integrated Development Environment (IDE) that houses all digital tools and data associated to various engine programs. The goal is to allow for collaboration between various companies and the US government to allow for necessary collaboration to better drive engine manufacturing by using shared tools and data. They are looking for someone well versed in Jira who deeply understands the system and know how to apply it. They will be responsible for setting up security controls within Jira, and coaching the users to understand what they want in order to build the proper workflows in Jira to meet business needs. They will be responsible for setting up rules, attributes, relationships, and all necessary workflows within Jira so users have the proper set-up to properly utilize the tool. This person will also be involved in Program Management aspects including creating proposals and agile management across the Advanced Engineering Programs. This person should have an understanding of tool integrations such as GitHub to Jira and Jira and Confluence. They will be involved in writing engineering proposals and support the overall creation process to help drive the overarching business goals as it relates to Advanced Engineering and the IDE collaboration.

Desired Skills and Experience

5+ years of experience with Jira Administration including configuration and set-up of the task workflow tool

Strong Agile background

Previously experience creating engineering proposals as new Advanced Engine Programs seek new project work

Ability to set up workflows within Jira from scratch

Understanding of tool integrations such as GitHub/Jira and Confluence/Jira

Strong communication and overall collaboration skills
