Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Electrical Control Panel Technician to provide hands-on support for both in-house and on-site projects. The ideal candidate will be experienced in troubleshooting, assembling, and verifying industrial control panels and associated systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver electrical services for both shop-floor and field-based projects.
Troubleshoot and evaluate industrial control panels, including PLC systems and installed components.
Interpret and work from electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and P&IDs.
Compare schematics with actual builds and P&IDs to ensure all options are correctly installed and wired.
Conduct point-to-point wire verification for accuracy and compliance.
Power up control panels and test individual components against power distribution drawings.
Confirm all components are installed per the issued Bill of Materials (BOM).
Understand and work with analog and digital I/O signals.
Complete Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) forms for all panels.
Apply UL labels to applicable panels and record associated serial numbers.
Use test equipment such as multimeters and 4–20mA signal generators/simulators.
Organize and install documentation inside control panels.
Take and upload digital photos of completed panels.
Package finished panels for shipping and move to the shipping/receiving area.
Maintain clear and professional communication with contractors and end users.
Work safely in hazardous environments and keep work areas clean and organized.
Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial control panel assembly and testing.
Basic PLC knowledge is a plus but not required.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Mechanically inclined, self-motivated, and capable of working independently.
Willingness and ability to travel 10%–15% of the year for training and domestic site visits.
Ability to obtain relevant certifications or training as needed.
