Essential Job Responsibilities
Schedule nursing department team members, providing coverage as needed to fill vacancies. Assume on call assistance to DON and ADON.
Communicate continuously with DON/ADON to ensure coordination of information and maintain accuracy of nursing schedule.
Train and orient new team members and assist with ongoing training to current team members.
Monitor, oversee, and administer medications as allowed per state specific guidelines.
Maintain confidentiality of verbal and written information pertaining to residents, facility operations and personnel.
Respond to resident emergencies, provide assistance, and arrange for appropriate medical attention or follow up.
Provide activities of daily living assistance to residents as requested.
Complete required forms in accordance with company policies and state regulations.
Document information and changes to resident's functional status, personal needs, appointments, etc.
Assess department for ways to improve and promote quality; immediately report any quality issues to DON or Executive Director.
Maintain an accurate record of chargeable services and submit record to billing department, by the designated date each month.
Attend regularly scheduled staff meetings and in-services.
Function as a role model to team by being punctual and following DSL standards.
Encourage socialization among residents and promote activities, assisting with activities as requested.
Chaperone activities outside the facility, when requested.
Maintain a safe, home-like, and pleasant environment for residents.
Practice safety in working around and with equipment, chemicals, tools, and utensils.
Report on-the-job injuries to the supervisor before the end of the work shift on the day the injury occurs.
Other duties as assigned.
Education, Experience and Other Requirements
At least one year experience as a CNA/CMA with scheduling experience
Management training or experience
Basic First Aid Training
High school diploma or GED
Experience in working with older adults
Experience in medication administration and medications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
Able to demonstrate a high level of service delivery and ensure customer satisfaction.
Ability to perform a variety of tasks and change focus quickly as demands change.
Able to communicate with others in a warm and helpful manner while simultaneously building credibility and rapport.
