PGS Worldwide is actively seeking a skilled Machinist to join our team in Chelmsford, MA. This is an exciting contract opportunity with a leading technology company in the aerospace and defense industry. In this hands-on role, you’ll play a critical part in producing high-precision components and systems that support advanced technological applications.
This is an initial 6-month contract-to-hire opportunity, and I will respond immediately to all qualified candidates.
Key Responsibilities:
Assemble electronic components, sub-assemblies, and final products following detailed instructions and drawings
Set up and operate precision machine tools to create original parts, tools, and mechanisms
Adjust machine settings to ensure optimal product quality and adherence to specifications
Read and interpret engineering drawings, work instructions, and technical documentation
Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of machines and related equipment
Accurately track production activities through digital data entry systems
Collaborate with team members to support continuous improvement efforts
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED
Mechanical aptitude and understanding of machining processes
Proficient in basic math and measurement tools
Familiarity with CAD/CAM software and basic programming from engineering models
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately
Basic computer skills, including digital timekeeping and task management systems
Knowledge of ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) procedures and general machine shop safety practices
Strong attention to detail and excellent reliability/punctuality
PPE: Steel-toe boots required
Location: Chelmsford, MA
Schedule: Monday – Thursday, 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM (Overtime possible)
