Reports To : Sr. Director Business Development
Status: Full Time (40+ hours)
Compensation: $20.00-$23.00/per hour
Location: Columbus (Arena district office)
Travel: 10%-20% locally to offsite meetings and events within Columbus and potential travel to one out of state conference.

Overview:
** As Business Development Assistant, you will provide support to the Sr. Manager and Sr. Director of Business Development at the Greater Columbus Sports Commission (GCSC) to bring sporting events to Columbus. You will assist as they prospect, bid and bring in potential clients to visit Columbus.
By joining the Sports Commission, you will be part of a team that makes sporting events successful in the city of Columbus. We bring sports events, fans and participants to Columbus and we've been doing it since 2002. We do it to improve the quality of life of people that call Columbus home. We do it to raise the profile of Columbus as a sports city. We do it to impact the people and economy in Central Ohio. Most of all we do it for the love of the game.
The Greater Columbus Sports Commission is an LLC of Experience Columbus, a 501(c)(6), and oversees the Greater Columbus Sports Foundation, a 501(c)(3), and operates with its own board of commissioners, budget, brand, office, web, and media presence, fundraising and other elements.

The work you will do:**
Work with CRM database, Simpleview, and be the liaison between Greater Columbus Sports Commission (GCSC) and Experience Columbus (EC) in all aspects related to Simpleview
Enter leads and accounts
Monitor lead responses and follow up as needed
Distribute contract verifications
Collect hotel pickup information
Create and run reports
Potentially attend Simpleview Summit for continuing education
Support Business Development team with bid process
Contact partners to follow up on lead responses and verifications
Customize and format bid book pages in PowerPoint
Purchase and arrange delivery of gifts to prospective clients and guests
Assist with all pre- and post-activities related to a client site inspection or FAM (Familiarization Tour)
Compile and distribute agenda
Book airfare, lodging and meal reservations
Prepare and deliver client amenities to hotel
Coordinate airport pick-ups and drop-offs
Coordinate in-house and client meetings
Create and distribute invitations
Order food & beverage, as needed
Distribute tickets, as needed
Prepare agenda and set-up room
Clean-up post event
Attend client, GCSC and Experience Columbus functions as requested

Qualifications and Background we are looking for:
** Experience in the following areas below (either through education, work experience or a combination of both)
Providing administrative support tasks in a small team office setting or environment
Data entry in a database a spreadsheet or other data system
Working independently on projects or tasks and within a team
Customer Service function including greeting and welcoming others to an event or location
Proficient using of Microsoft Office products and the Internet
Ability to take direction from others, ask questions when needed, and apply feedback
Team player, focused on strong relationships built on respect, trust and sharing of knowledge
An excellent communicator (written and verbally)
Ability to prioritize and run multiple projects in a fast pace, dynamic environment
Highly organized in daily tasks as well as physical space and electronic filing.
Well-developed time management skills with an ability to consistently meet deadlines.
Ability to anticipate needs, develop solutions and overcome obstacles with minimal direction
Demonstrates flexibility, resilience, and a willingness to learn
Passionate about the product (Columbus and Sports) and motivated to exceed expectations
The organization requires all employees to obtain and maintain the Experience Columbus Insider (ECI) accreditation

• Ability to lift up to 15 pounds during events, only as needed, with or without assistance
• Ability to engage in prolonged standing, event setup and teardown at events. (2-3 per year)
