Join Amazon, a leader in cloud computing infrastructure, as a Pre-Construction Manager and play a pivotal role in the development and implementation of our Pre-Construction program across various campuses. This position will be the key connection between Real Estate, Design Engineering, and other essential teams during the planning and design phases. Your expertise in pre-construction practices and hands-on construction experience will be instrumental in driving high standards in our delivery processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Possess detailed knowledge of critical data center equipment including Generators, UPS, Switchgear, Transformers, and HVAC systems.
Communicate effectively, maintain meticulous quality standards, and provide robust constructability guidance.
Conduct thorough constructability reviews on mechanical and electrical designs for new and existing data centers.
Serve as the escalation point for complex constructability challenges.
Contribute to the development of global standards and data center templates.
Evaluate civil, structural, and electrical requirements for potential sites.
Negotiate with landlords, developers, and contractors, and meticulously evaluate bids and proposals.
Identify and communicate site requirements impacting schedule, cost, and project delivery.
Create and manage construction GC scopes and requests for proposals.
Supervise general contractors during preconstruction services in the design phase.
Review bid summaries, labor pricing, and perform subcontractor evaluations.
Analyze construction costs and support bi-annual budget updates.
Organize and transfer critical project information to Construction Managers.
Gather and share lessons learned to enhance project delivery across the team.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or 5+ years of relevant experience.
5+ years of experience in data center delivery and mission-critical facilities.
Proven record of end-to-end project delivery.
Experience creating and documenting high-quality processes and standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience specifically in the design or construction of data centers or large-scale mechanical and electrical systems.
Familiarity with working alongside large data center providers across regions.
Knowledge of building codes and regulations, including Life Safety, IBC, NFPA, NEC, and OSHA.
Experience in controls and commissioning of large-scale projects.
Ability to develop and present business analyses to senior leadership.
