The Supplier Assurance Inspection Engineer is responsible for identifying quality issues, establishing containment, developing and implementing countermeasures to ensure acceptable quality for Honda products and parts. The Inspection Engineer will ensure the execution of the Outstanding Quality (OQ) flow, promote / mentor strong quality culture / mindset, set department direction and evaluate achievement to exceed customer expectations. Key Accountabilities
Lead Department Hinjuku activity from QC event to gain an early understanding of challenges and drive problem a) containment b) resolution and c) reoccurrence prevention prior to mass production through the model life cycl
Coordinate cross-department activity to complex items to accelerate root cause analysis and countermeasure spee
Oversee technical in-depth analysis related to the production process to minimize customer concern
Work with suppliers to ensure resolution of any quality and/or tooling concern
Oversee proposed countermeasures, judge their effectiveness once implemented, and manage change point contro
Quality Safety Declaration evaluator to assure department readiness for mass production start-up and/or department characteristics change point
Develop solutions to problems of various scope and complexity using Honda problem solving methods
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
BS/AS in engineering with related experience or applicable experience
8+ Years of experience based on educatio
Application of Honda Philosoph
Understand and apply company standards (Supplier Quality Manual (SQM), Honda QMS and government regulations
Knowledge of manufacturing environment and engineering principles as it relates to new model, safety, quality, and delivery
Highly effective communication skills (verbal & written
Ability to interact within all levels of the organization
Ability to build consensus for key process improvements, with different departments & groups
Detailed knowledge of supplier improvement activity and concern supplier
Ability to understand part drawings, specifications and applications
