Description
The Sports Information Coordinator is responsible for managing and promoting all aspects of intercollegiate athletics communication at New College of Florida. This position oversees media relations, gameday coverage, digital content creation, statistics, and archiving for all athletic teams. The coordinator will work closely with Communications and Athletics departments to ensure consistent branding and promotion of scholar-athletes, teams, and the athletic program
Examples of Duties
Serve as the primary media and public relations contact for all varsity athletic teams
Maintain and update the athletics website with schedules, rosters, news, statistics, and results
Oversee game-day operations for sports information, including statistics, public address, live streaming, and social media coverage
Prepare and distribute press releases, game recaps, and feature stories
Manage all social media platforms related to athletics and coordinate digital media strategies
Compile and submit required NAIA and Sun Conference statistics and reports
Coordinate photography and videography for athletic events and promotional materials
Assist with the production of media guides, game programs, and season previews
Organize and promote scholar-athlete honors, awards, and academic achievements
Support conference and national nominations for weekly and seasonal awards
Maintain historical records and archives for all athletic programs
Supervise student interns or part-time staff assisting in sports information
Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, sports management, or a related field
One to three years of relevant experience in athletic communications or media relations
Strong written and verbal communications skills
Proficiency in web content management systems and social media platforms
Familiarity with statistical software (e.g., StatCrew, PrestoStats, Genius Sports)
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in video production and live streaming platforms
Graphic design skills using Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere)
Knowledge of NAIA and Sun Conference athletic structures and reporting standards
