Description Under the direction of the Office Manager; responsible to provide safe transportation for patients of Family Healthcare of Hagerstown in a timely, competent manner.
Activities include transporting patients to and from their homes to FHH for appointments for primary care, dental care, and behavioral health services.
Responsible for ensuring vehicle maintenance is current and ongoing.
Supports and follows through with the vision, mission, goals and objectives of Family Healthcare of Hagerstown.
Responsibilities and Duties * Ensures that the patients of Family Healthcare of Hagerstown are transported to their appointments in a safe and efficient manner, following all Maryland licensing requirements.
* Follows schedules and make adjustments to meet unanticipated changes.
While determining the safest and most efficient pick-up and delivery routes while considering needs of the patients.
* Assist with scheduling and calling patients before appointment to verify pick up times.
* Maintain daily reports to include patient reporting statistics.
* Maintains vehicle to ensure patient safety and cleanliness.
* Track and report maintenance and repairs needed with vehicle, and record pre-trip inspections.
* Demonstrates regard for, dignity toward, and respect for all patients, families, guests, and representatives of other organizations to ensure a professional, courteous, and responsive environment.
* Performs job responsibilities with attention to safety concerns relating to staff, equipment, and the facility.
* Knowledge of the clerical functions such as faxing, taking messages, copying records, and computer usage.
* Assists and provides effective training and cross training of clerical staff and volunteer staff in a timely and professional manner.
* Assists with incoming telephone calls, scheduling patients within departmental guidelines and verifying insurance coverage.
* Assists with functions related to registration, insurance verification, financial assistance and preparation of medical record information forms.
Requirements Environmental and Working Conditions Works in a well-equipped vehicle.
May be required to drive in a variety of weather conditions.
Must have manual dexterity to perform all requirements of the job.
May require the use of repetitive action, forearm rotational movement, writing, simple grasping, fine manipulating, power grip, pushing, lifting, pulling.
Qualifications and Skills * Graduation from high school with commercial/business courses or the equivalent required.
* Must be at least 21 years of age and have at least 5 years of driving experience.
* Must possess current, valid driver's license.
* Must possess and maintain a safe driving record.
* Must be knowledgeable with area roads and highways.
* Ability to recognize vehicle maintenance needs and perform minor vehicle repairs.
* Must be certified in CPR and First Aid.
* Friendly and outgoing personality.

* Excellent interpersonal skills.
