COMPUTER/IT Senior Performance Analyst, IBM Corporation, San Jose, CA: Design large-scale workloads that accurately reflect current customer data volumes and transaction rates, ensuring realistic performance testing scenarios.
Develop automated performance test frameworks using scripting languages such as REXX, CLIST, and SOF to enhance testing efficiency.
Execute performance workloads and analyze data from various sources including Db2 for z/OS accounting, statistics, performance traces, z/OS RMF data, and identify performance defects and regressions impacting transaction elapsed time, CPU usage, or system storage.
Collaborate with developers and stakeholders under the Db2 for z/OS continuous delivery model, develop performance tests during the design stages of new features, address performance issues early in the development process.
Document and publish performance tuning guidelines for new Db2 features, assist customer support engineers by analyzing performance data to resolve customer issues.
Maintain up-to-date performance test environments, ensure accurate testing results.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior analysts and develop and maintain technical documentation, including workload specifications, system configurations, test cases, and test scripts.
Utilize: Db2 for z/OS, Db2AI for z/OS, z/OS, CICS Transaction Server for z/OS, z/OS Resource Measurement Facility, OMEGAMON for Db2 Performance Expert on z/OS, IBM Enterprise COBOL for z/OS.
Required: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering or related and five (5) years of experience as a System Programmer, Application Developer, Database Administrator or related.
Five (5) years of experience must include utilizing Db2 for z/OS, Db2AI for z/OS, z/OS, CICS Transaction Server for z/OS, z/OS Resource Measurement Facility, OMEGAMON for Db2 Performance Expert on z/OS, IBM Enterprise COBOL for z/OS.
