Waltonen Engineering is actively seeking a Laser Tracker Operator to join our team!
Responsibilities
Report to the Independence Tooling Operations Manager.
Ensure that manufactured and purchased parts conform to engineering specifications and drawings using a Laser Tracker, hand tools, and possibly CMM.
Mark up manufactured parts for finish machining operations as required.
Verify that details, subassemblies, assemblies, weldments, etc., meet the accuracy requirements and tolerances specified by engineering specifications and drawings.
Create inspection reports per internal operating standards and forms, as well as customer-supplied templates.
Review conformance to special processes included on jobs/projects (coatings, paintings, surface finishes, part marking, welds, etc.).
Assist the Quality Manager in creating Quality Packages, including all deliverable documents for specific jobs/projects (Cert reports, First Article Inspections, Inspection Check Lists, R studies or R & R Studies, etc.).
Identify non-conforming materials, components, or parts and work with the Quality Manager to document Corrective Actions.
Qualifications
At least 1 year of experience operating a Laser Tracker (API/Verisurf).
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
Excellent communication skills with customers, peers, and subordinates.
Proficiency in using Microsoft Office programs to create and modify reports and documents
Willingness to work overtime as needed, with adaptability to fluctuating workloads.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience operating a CMM machine.
Preferred familiarity with building and doweling fixtures.
Quality experience, particularly with ISO9001 and/or AS9100, is preferred.
A background in aerospace, automotive, or defense is advantageous.
Proficiency with Verisurf, PC-DMIS, Polyworks, Spatial Analyzer, or similar software.
Experience with CMM or White Light Scanning is a plus.
