Position Overview:

We seek a highly skilled Accounting Manager to oversee the general accounting team supporting the financial close process, preparing and reviewing journal entries and account reconciliations, driving key projects, and helping to lead and support various projects and initiatives.

The Accounting Manager directs and leads the following team members:

Senior Accountant 1

Senior Accountant 2

Staff Accountant II

The Accounting Manager will be responsible for driving the month end close process including the preparation and review of journal entries ensuring the timely preparation, and review thereof. Additionally, the Accounting Manager will be responsible for the preparation and review of balance sheet reconciliations for various accounts. This is a “hands-on” role, as the Accounting Manager will be expected to support the day-to-day accounting operations including the order to cash and procure to pay cycles in addition to journal entry preparation, etc… Finally, the Accounting Manager will also be responsible for certain technical areas including revenue recognition, right of use assets and liabilities, prepaids, deferred revenue, fixed assets capitalization, depreciation, etc…

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership:

Mentor, support general accounting staff establishing priorities and strategic priorities,

Foster a culture of continuous improvement, professional development through training to improve efficiency and maintain accuracy.

Providing decision making support to ensure efficient and effective operations. Month End:

Support month-end close process, preparing and reviewing journal entries and general ledger reconciliations, including managing and supporting the annual audit process.

Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with US GAAP and internal control framework ensuring appropriate review and sign off.

Key journal entries include (and not limited to): right of use assets, related lease liabilities, cash, intangible assets and related amortization, fixed assets and related depreciation, prepaids, intercompany, credit card liabilities, inventory, etc…

Project Management:

Support finance-related projects and initiatives, including system enhancements, process automation, and efficiency improvements.

Identify and resolve complex accounting issues as they arise and lead special or ad-hoc projects and transactions, as needed.

Performs other special projects assigned from time to time.

Change Management:

Drive organizational change within the finance function, ensuring smooth transitions and adoption of new processes.

Internal Controls:

Strengthen internal controls and ensure compliance within internal framework. Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Support internal and external departments with timely financial information, addressing inquiries and providing necessary support as needed.

Work Schedule: 3 days onsite, 2 days remote flexibility

Reports To: Assistant Controller

Key Stakeholders: CFO, VP Accounting and Corporate Controller, VP Finance (FP&A), Assistant Controller, Cost Accounting Manager and other functional leaders

Salary Range: $120 - $150k annuallyRequirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred but not required).

7 – 12 yrs of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a mid-sized consumer packaged goods (CPG) company with multiple channels (complexity).

Good knowledge of US GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.

Experience in a PE-backed company desired

Advanced MS Excel experience

Experience with ERP systems (Oracle, Fusion, NetSuite, or similar).

Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
