Maintenance Data Entry Intern

Metals America is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Maintenance Data Entry Intern to support our maintenance and operations team. The intern will assist in accurately recording equipment maintenance activities, updating preventive maintenance schedules, and organizing documentation to ensure the smooth operation of heavy industrial equipment in a high-temperature manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Input maintenance and repair records into the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) with a high degree of accuracy.

Track downtime and service history for critical foundry equipment such as furnaces, casting machines, molds, and conveyors.

Assist in scheduling and updating preventive maintenance tasks and inspections.

Support the organization and digital archiving of maintenance logs, manuals, and service documentation.

Collaborate with maintenance technicians and supervisors to collect accurate data and clarify service reports.

Generate weekly and monthly maintenance reports for review by operations leadership.

Maintain an inventory log of spare parts and supplies used in the maintenance of copper processing equipment.

Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards in all data management practices.

Requirements

Qualifications:

Currently pursuing a degree or diploma in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related technical/business field.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Basic knowledge of industrial maintenance concepts is a plus.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with CMMS or ERP software is preferred.

Comfortable working in a manufacturing or foundry environment.

Strong communication skills and ability to interact with technical staff.

Willingness to learn and take initiative in a fast-paced industrial setting.
