Position: Simulator Console Operator (SCO)
Position Overview
MIRACORP is seeking experienced Simulator Console Operators (SCO) to support critical defense training initiatives at the 25th Attack Group, Ellsworth AFB. If you have a background in MQ-9 simulation operations and tactical mission training, this is an opportunity to enhance mission readiness through real-time simulator operations in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
Locations include Shaw AFB, Whiteman AFB, Ellsworth AFB
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
Simulator Operations: Load and manage MQ-9 simulator missions (Desktop Trainer [DTT], Distributed Mission Operations [DMO]) according to established schedules.
Real-Time Mission Support: Provide tactical adjustments and white cell support during training, simulating external forces/agencies as needed.
Technical Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve simulator malfunctions, coordinating with manufacturers to ensure mission continuity.
Record Keeping & Reporting: Maintain time-use logs and discrepancy reports, ensuring accurate documentation and resolution of issues.
Scenario Integration: Incorporate voice and mIRC injects into training scenarios with instructor coordination.
Tactical Software Utilization: Use Zeus, CAVOK, and MACE to refine training event profiles and enhance mission realism.
Multi-Agency Collaboration: Work closely with Weapons (DOW), Training (DOT), and Current Ops to design and optimize training exercises.
Debrief & Analysis: Support mission debriefing by providing feedback to instructors and student crews.
Training Enhancement: Program MQ-9 Simulator profiles and refine tactical scenarios to meet evolving mission requirements.
Qualifications
Conditions of Employment
Security Clearance: Top Secret/SCI clearance required.
U.S. Citizenship required
Must participate in a federal background investigation
MQ-9 Simulator Experience: Prior experience operating MQ-9 simulators or similar systems.
Demonstrated experience with flight training simulators. Candidates must possess at least one (1) of the following:
One (1) year of MQ-1 or MQ-9 simulator (PMATS) experience; or
Two (2) years of experience executing military flight simulator training; or
Two (2) years of Close Air Support (CAS) operational experience as a qualified aircrew member, intel support, or JTAC (Joint Terminal Air Controller).Ideal candidates will have MQ-1/9 experience.
Current DoD Security Clearance
Technical Proficiency: Skilled in Microsoft Office and tactical software such as Zeus, CAVOK, and MACE.
Attention to Detail: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and troubleshoot operational issues.
Flexibility: Ability to work mission-dependent hours (typically 0730-1630, Monday-Friday).
