The Maintenance Technician I is responsible for the overall maintenance of structures and grounds of the Osage Nation. The Maintenance Tech I must perform miscellaneous tasks requiring hand labor for the development and maintenance of tribal lands and structures. Responsible for overall maintenance, plumbing, and electrical components of Tribal buildings.
Qualifications
Associate’s Degree in any field preferred; High school diploma or GED required
Must have 2 years of maintenance and/or construction experience
Mechanical, electrical and plumbing training certifications preferred
Must be able to work all hours/shifts as needed
Must possess knowledge and ability to safely operate tractors, brush hog, backhoe, forklift and all other equipment used by the maintenance staff
Must be able lift at least 75 lbs. and drag or pull at least 100 lbs.
Must be able to stand, lift, bend and climb ladders
Requires a high level of personal integrity and ethics
Requires a high level of problem solving skills
Requires willingness and ability to learn new skills, including travel to conferences and training sessions
Requires good interpersonal communication and team work skills
Must maintain a professional attitude and appearance that positively represents the Nation
Must maintain confidentiality at all times
Requires ability to use Microsoft Office Suite programs
Must be able to pass a criminal background check
Must be able to pass drug/alcohol testing
Must be able to work in a fast paced environment and be able to meet deadlines
Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record – may be required to drive GSA or tribal vehicle
Duties & Responsibilities
Adheres to all applicable safety rules and regulations
Troubleshoots and takes corrective action for all mechanical, electrical and plumbing issues
Supervises Maintenance Workers during assigned tasks
Performs routine carpentry work (including framing, drywall installation and bedding, painting and etc.)
Performs all work in maintaining grounds and facilities of the Osage Nation (including removal of trash/debris, mowing, weed eating, edging, landscaping. Also including removal of snow and ice from stairs, walks and driveways)
Performs routine and scheduled maintenance of all buildings
Responsible for all general maintenance of equipment, hand operated and motorized
Operates hand and power tools on a regular basis
Assists in loading and unloading trucks and moving office furniture and equipment
Other duties as assigned by the Tribal Works Manager
