Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic

Job Description

As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of all industrial equipment. Your role will include performing preventative and predictive maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and implementing technical solutions to maintain constant operation of converting equipment and lines. You will also participate in manufacturing process improvement initiatives and handle repairs using precision measuring equipment.

Responsibilities

Perform maintenance on various industrial equipment, including conveyors, photo eye sensors, packaging equipment, labelers, and cappers.

Conduct preventative and predictive maintenance on all equipment.

Troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues to ensure continuous operation.

Participate in process improvement initiatives within the manufacturing environment.

Implement technical solutions and repairs using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, dial indicators, and multimeters.Essential Skills

Proficiency in maintenance, hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical systems, and conveyor maintenance.

Experience with motors, including 3-phase motors.

Comfortable with changeovers, setups, fillers, pumps, and valves.

Minimum of 1+ years of industrial maintenance experience working on hydraulics, pneumatics, and conveyors.Additional Skills & Qualifications

Previous experience in GMP or food manufacturing is a plus.

Ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment.

Experience in preventive maintenance and electrical systems.

High school diploma or GED required.

Preferably 3+ years of experience in a GMP environment.

Computer proficiency in MS Office.

Best candidates will have a minimum of 5 years related manufacturing experience in an FDA facility, while average candidates may have 3 years of experience in a non-FDA facility.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

The facility operates around the clock, five days a week, distributing products nationwide seven days a week. As a liquid filling facility, candidates with a background in liquid filling or packaging, especially from the food and beverage industry, would be a plus due to the FDA-regulated environment. Be prepared for strong odors depending on the department, which may include mouthwash, lotion, or alcohol.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Smyrna, Tennessee.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.
