POSITION SUMMARY:
Performs preventive maintenance and repairs on production equipment and systems (e.g., mechanical, electrical). Evaluates and recommends equipment improvements to improve efficiency, capability and yield.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Performs preventive maintenance and repairs on production equipment and systems
Adjust or replace worn or defective mechanisms and parts and reassemble repaired systems
Inspect maintenance systems, equipment, or components to identify hazards, defects, or the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes
Troubleshoots and diagnoses equipment problems
Repair or replace defective equipment, components, or wiring
Prepares technical reports to document preventative maintenance issues
Performs equipment failure analyses (including preventive and unscheduled maintenance)
Maintains and secures a spare parts inventory, recommends purchasing of maintenance equipment and supplies as required to improve processes and efficiencies
Evaluates and recommends equipment improvements to improve efficiency, capability and yield
Observe and test system operation, using gauges and instruments
Adjust or replace worn or defective mechanisms and parts and reassemble repaired systems
Assists higher-level technicians
Preferred Qualifications
Ammonia experience
HS Diploma, GED or equivalent
Technical certification in Industrial Maintenance or other related field
Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem resolution skills
Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish reading, writing & speaking
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure, meet deadlines, present a professional demeanor and work well independently and within a team environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
ENVIRONMENTAL/WORKING CONDITIONS
Ability to work overnight shifts, weekends, holidays, 1st, 2nd and/or 3rd shifts
Ability to work in temperature conditions between 35 and 95 degrees Fahrenheit; may occasionally exceed 95 degrees Fahrenheit
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Regularly required to stand; use hands and fingers in a repetitive motion. Frequently required to stand, walk and reach above the head. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl and talk or hear. The employee is required to lift a minimum of ten (10) lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts, toxic or caustic chemicals and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment ranges from normal office levels to loud factory / warehouse levels.
