Job Description

Title: Applications Engineer

Shift: Full Time, 8am-4:30pm

Salary: $32 - $35/hr + OT

Applications Engineer Role:

As an Applications Engineer, you will act as a technical liaison between customers and the company, analyzing customer needs, preparing specifications, and supporting the sales, installation, and service of our products. This role exists to ensure that customer requirements are accurately translated into effective engineering solutions and proposals.

Applications Engineer Responsibilities:

Analyze customer applications and coordinate the development of engineering data to meet customer requirements

Collaborate with field sales engineering personnel and customers to define applications, design systems, and present quotations

Provide material handling concept data to vendors for quotation purposes

Conduct on-site visits to collect data for quotation and installation

Calculate detailed analysis sheets on costing, production, and power consumption for equipment

Prepare and submit written quotes to customers

Create and deliver presentations for customers both on-site and off-site

Work with the engineering department on final design and analysis once orders are secured

Monitor the progress of orders and provide timely feedback to customers

Participate in trade shows and industry events

Follow all safety and work rules and maintain departmental housekeeping standards

Applications Engineer Reporting Relationships:

Reports to: Engineering Manager

Direct Reports: None

About You:

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent related experience

Strong analytical, communication, presentation, problem-solving, and technical writing skills

Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, ACT, Access, and Project

Experience with 3D Modeling Software (Autodesk Inventor a plus)

Proficient in AutoCAD Release 12 or higher

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret schematics, business documents, and statistical reports

Strong mathematical skills for preparing quotations, including working with proportions, percentages, and all units of measure

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions

High level of accuracy and accountability in all activities

Ability to communicate effectively with managers, customers, and colleagues

Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed

Ability to work in both office and manufacturing environments

Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work independently or as part of a team

Physical ability to sit, use hands, talk, hear, stand, walk, and bend as required; vision abilities including close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception
