Plant Manager
About the Role:
A well-established food manufacturing facility in Duluth, GA is seeking an experienced and results-driven Plant Manager to oversee full plant operations. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for driving performance, ensuring safety and quality compliance, optimizing efficiency, and managing cross-functional teams across production, packaging, warehousing, and distribution. The Plant Manager will report directly to senior leadership and is expected to foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide strategic direction and hands-on leadership across all plant operations
Ensure strict adherence to all safety, GMP, and quality standards; safety is the top priority
Lead and mentor production supervisors and team leads, focusing on talent development and performance management
Monitor and review daily production KPIs including downtime, yields, labor, material usage, and waste—implement corrective actions where needed
Oversee kitchen operations with a focus on inventory accuracy, material control, and BOM management
Lead daily management huddles, review KPIs, and ensure accountability for performance metrics
Apply lean manufacturing principles and lead root cause analysis (RCA) related to quality, safety, and process issues
Partner with maintenance to ensure effective planning and execution of weekly maintenance work orders
Manage staffing plans, approve payroll, hire, train, and conduct performance reviews
Collaborate with the scheduler to align daily, weekly, and monthly production with customer demand
Coordinate with Warehouse, Inventory, Purchasing, Quality Control, and Distribution teams to align production and supply chain activities
Participate in finished goods planning and scheduling product testing in partnership with Quality Control
Qualifications:
5–10+ years of experience in plant or production management within a food or CPG manufacturing environment
Strong understanding of production cost management, process optimization, and product formulation
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered
Proven ability to lead teams, manage performance, and drive results through cross-functional collaboration
Excellent communication, decision-making, and leadership skills
Flexible and willing to support all shifts (1st, 2nd, or 3rd) and work weekends as needed
