Base pay in range will be determined by applicant’s skills and experience. Role is also eligible for team based bonus opportunities. Temporary associates are not benefits eligible but may participate in the company’s 401(k) program.

Responsibilities

Responsible for electronic shooting, editing and technical direction of video and audio to create efficient, cost-effective programs and projects for internal and external use to meet the business and communication needs of the company. Provides strategic public and media relations support across the enterprise. Provides proactive external communications outreach execution, as well as 24/7 responsive communications to both routine and sensitive issues and crises, primarily at the local community level. Supports proactive media opportunities and message development for story-telling opportunities with residents, families, associates, and media, and serves as spokesperson when appropriate.

Responsible for electronic shooting, editing and technical direction of video and audio project elements and programs suitable for digital delivery.

Manages production studio to be ready for use within a short turnaround period of time and ensure video/audio equipment is properly functioning at all times.

Serves as media liaison and spokesperson in both positive and adverse media situations.

Acts as communications contact for local community support, inside and outside of regular business hours and provides crisis communications support as needed.

Develops messaging and talking points for media interviews, participates in and monitors interviews done by approved community spokespersons.

Ensures project documentation and all deliverables are organized and stored within archive resources per organizational guidelines.

Promotes positive reputation of Brookdale through localized initiatives by identifying, creating content/writing, and pitching positive stories about Brookdale communities to local and national media.

Manages posts on Brookdale’s online news media room content and microsite.

Supports in media monitoring and PR analytics for trends and opportunities and helps execute daily internal newsletter.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelors or technical degree in Communications, Journalism or related field.

Minimum three years of relevant communications or production experience.

Additional years of relevant experience can be substituted for the education requirement on a year for year basis.

Possesses expert video production skills including technical knowledge, understanding and skill with video production and post production equipment for field and studio.

Technical and creative proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud programs (e.g., Captivate, Photoshop, Illustrator, Audition, After Effects, and Premiere).

Stays up to date with latest technologies, methods, applications and theory related to video/audio communication.

Possesses superior creative writing, editing and proofreading skills for web and print, including working knowledge and application of AP style.

Salary Range Information

$64,060.00 - $81,600.00 / year
