Our client is an award winning global integrator supporting a major branch of our Armed Forces. They have a need for a Cybersecurity Risk and Mission Assurance Consultant to work a hybrid schedule at the Pentagon. In this role you will lead OT-focused mission mapping and risk assessments, deliver strategic briefings, facilitate stakeholder collaboration, ensure compliance with cybersecurity frameworks, and align mission requirements with critical vulnerabilities

Per our Federal Government Contract, candidates must be U.S. Citizens with an ACTIVE SECRET CLEARANCE.

Responsibilities

Serve as a technical expert supporting the Mission Mapping Prioritization effort.

Ensure alignment with mission-critical cyber operations across the US Armed Forces critical infrastructure.

Develop, execute, and oversee strategies for prioritizing cyber vulnerabilities based on: Mission Impact and Operational Risk

Collaborate closely with stakeholders at all levels, including: Base-level Operational Teams and Senior Leadership

Ensure accurate risk assessment, mission alignment, and effective implementation of cybersecurity measures.

Possess extensive knowledge in:

Risk management frameworks

Mission assurance methodologies

Cybersecurity governance

Operational technology

Artificial intelligence tools

Demonstrate strong skills in:

Analytical thinking

Project management

Communication

Effectively manage and communicate complex risk and mission assurance strategies.

Qualifications

Risk Management & Mission Assurance â 5+ years implementing NIST RMF, mission assurance methodologies, and DoD strategic priorities

Operational Technology/ICS Cybersecurity â 5+ years securing SCADA, ICS, and OT environments

Vulnerability Prioritization & Mission Mapping â 5+ years developing and executing risk-based prioritization frameworks aligned to mission impact

Strategic Briefing & Communication â 5+ years delivering technical briefings and reports to senior and base-level leadership

Cybersecurity Governance & Compliance â 5+ years ensuring alignment with NIST CSF, DoD instructions policies

Stakeholder Engagement & Facilitation â 5+ years leading cross-functional collaboration sessions for risk mitigation planning

Project Management â 5+ years managing cybersecurity initiatives, timelines, and deliverables

Technical Analysis & Reporting â 5+ years conducting in-depth risk assessments and translating findings into actionable recommendations

AI & Data Analytics in Cybersecurity â 3+ years applying machine learning or AI tools to enhance vulnerability detection and prioritization

Collaboration & Teamwork â 5+ years working with diverse teams across operational, engineering, and executive levels

Preferred Qualifications:

Professional Certifications (CISSP, CISM, GICSP) â 3+ years holding and applying credentialed expertise

ICS Protocols & Automation (Modbus, DNP3, OPC) â 3+ years configuring and securing control system communications

Scripting & Tool Development (Python, PowerShell, Ansible) â 2+ years automating vulnerability discovery and reporting

Cloud & Edge OT Architectures â 2+ years integrating OT environments with AWS/Azure/edge platforms

Supply Chain Risk Management â 2+ years assessing vendor and component risk in critical infrastructure

DoD Acquisition & Funding Processes â 2+ years supporting requirements definition and budget planning

Risk Visualization & Analytics (PowerBI, Splunk, ArcGIS) â 2+ years presenting mission impact dashboards

Emergency Response & Incident Management â 2+ years coordinating cyber physical incident exercises and after action analyses

Compensation:

W2 Hourly rate: $85 - $90. Pay rates are based on experience, qualifications, location, and certifications, and are subject to change at any time.
