About NTSA

Organizations and individuals in the Modeling & Simulation and Training industries are represented through membership in the National Training & Simulation Association (NTSA), a proud affiliate of the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA). NTSA provides the training, simulation, related support systems, and training services industries a focused, formal organization to represent and promote their business interests in the marketplace.

NTSA also fosters relationships between the training industry, planners, and acquisition agencies regarding requirements, procurement issues, and policies.

Association Objectives

Represent to government the non-partisan business interests of the simulation, training, and support services industries.

Increase the value of training systems and services provided by industry to government.

Inform and educate the legislative policymaking acquisition and regulatory functions of government, including Congress, the Department of Defense (DoD), and other agencies.

Provide direct contact between acquisition activities and the industry to better communicate regarding procurement issues and policies.

Provide industry-wide bulletins and news reports.

Act as a clearing house for business policy, ethics, and practices affecting industry.

Description of Duties

This position will assist with logistical arrangements and planning for all NTSA events to include the annual I/ITSEC event. The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills and be comfortable formatting and proofreading copy when provided with guidelines and examples Listed below is a general overview of possible tasks and responsibilities.

The internship is located at 2101 Wilson Blvd, Arlington, VA and will be all year round. The hourly rate is $18.00 an hour, with estimated 20-30 hours per week, no benefits will be offered. A career goal of entering the Hospitality and Meetings industry after graduation is preferred but not required.

General Tasks and Responsibilities:

General Logistics Support

Respond as directed to general customer email inquiries daily.

Assist in formatting and proofreading general information for conference signs.

Assist with packing and shipping of conference materials.

Provide general logistical support for the annual conference as assigned.

Meeting Program Support

Assists in researching local activities and local information.

Proofreads and formats as directed general information for the print program.

Proofreads scheduling information for signs and the print programs.

Proofreads promotional materials, website content, and marketing emails.

Attendee Registration

Assists with the general registration processes as needed/assigned.

Assists in assembling attendee materials, e.g., producing badges and organizing registration materials for on-site distribution.

Exhibits/Sponsorship Support

Assist with Innovation showcase, exhibitor networking reception, onsite show guides and exhibit manual.

Assist with payment/collections.

Assist in preparing lists and organization of logistical data for event contractors.

Proofreads promotional materials, website content, and signage.

Assist in the coordination of the I/ITSEC onsite booth selection for Sustaining Members

Assist with special events as assigned within the I/ITSEC exhibit hall.

Other Job Functions

Perform various administrative duties including but not limited to: Preparation of, proofing and editing marketing correspondence with attendees.

Special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook

High degree of professionalism.

High comfort learning new technology, such as online databases, with training provided.

Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail.

Self-starter with a high level of energy.

Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Ability to work effectively both individually and in a team.

Good research skills (online searches, some phone calls).

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to learn new technologies and processes quickly.

Organizing, labeling, and packing supplies.

Occasional lifting, up to 50 pounds.

A degree in Hospitality is preferred, but not required.
