Network Technician (1099 Contractor)
We are seeking a highly skilled Network Technician to join our team as a 1099 independent contractor on an as-needed basis. This role requires expertise in all phases of network installation, from surveying and bidding to cabling and implementation, including managing multiple Intermediate Distribution Frame (IDF) scenarios. The ideal candidate must be versatile, capable of working independently or collaboratively onsite, and proficient in delivering high-quality network solutions.
Responsibilities:
Conduct site surveys to assess network requirements and infrastructure needs.
Prepare accurate bids and proposals for network installation projects.
Install, terminate, and test network cabling (e.g., Cat5e, Cat6, fiber optics) to industry standards.
Configure and implement network equipment, including routers, switches, and access points.
Set up and manage multiple IDFs to support complex network architectures.
Troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity and performance issues.
Ensure compliance with safety standards, local codes, and industry best practices.
Provide detailed documentation and reports on completed installations.

Requirements
Must be located in San Antonio, or Austin, Texas.
Must have a ladder and all the required tools.
Must be able to "Run, terminate, test, and label wall plates"
Proven experience as a Network Technician or similar role in network installation.
Ability to work independently or with a team onsite, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills.
Expertise in all aspects of network installation, including surveying, bidding, cabling, and implementation.
Proficiency in configuring network hardware.
Knowledge of TIA/EIA standards, IP networking, and multiple IDF configurations.
Must provide own tools, equipment, and reliable transportation.
Valid driver’s license.
Excellent communication, time-management, and organizational skills.
