An upscale casual Italian restaurant in Silicon Valley is seeking a Sous Chef to help lead their culinary team.
Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years in a Sous Chef or BOH leadership role in high-volume($4M) or upscale casual restaurants
Strong cooking technique, plating standards, and commitment to food quality
Ability to lead, coach, and manage a team of 20+ kitchen staff
Familiarity with Italian cuisine preferred; ability to learn and pronounce Italian terms required
Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
Non-Negotiables:
Oversee food prep, line execution, cleanliness, and adherence to 5-star service and food safety standards
Manage daily BOH operations including scheduling, staffing, and labor cost monitoring
Conduct interviews, complete new hire onboarding, lead performance reviews, and provide disciplinary feedback as needed
Place accurate weekly orders, manage inventory, and minimize spoilage
Uphold compliance with safety, sanitation, and internal SOPs
Work all shifts (AM/PM/weekends) as needed to support business operations
