As an Onsite Quality Specialist, you'll be the guardian of quality, ensuring that our standards remain unmatched and our commitment to excellence never wavers.
Primary Responsibilities:
Handle the development of work instructions, quality related SOP’s, and documentation for the Quality Department and Operations team.
Read and understand technical drawings and specifications.
Use measuring devices (micrometer, caliper, height vernier, etc.)
Assists in conducting Root Cause Analysis and working with the resolution team to create a clear path forward to prevent future issues.
Compute and relate metrics regarding customer defect information, scrap, and inspection data.
Assist with 5S and ISO audits.
Train operators on blueprints.
Conduct detailed measurement analysis and capability studies, as needed.
Conduct lab testing which involves Salt spray, Humidity, Paint panel, X-ray and other testing as required per ASTM standards.
Perform chemical titrations per required standards
Calibrate attribute gauges and measuring devices at regularly scheduled intervals and enter information into database.
Work with Quality Manager on PPM reduction and scrap reduction projects.
Identify, develop, implement, and monitor projects for continuous improvement.
Provide support and input to in development of Work Instructions, Process Flowcharts, PFMEA, Control Plans, Reaction Plans
Achieve a full understanding of the products, ensuring that all QA systems are applied and followed.
Provide defect analysis. Identify, validate, and assist in the elimination of the causes for internal/external defect
Ensure that quality reports and pertinent information are communicated daily.
Ability to Use portable coordinate measuring machine or 2D/ 3D scanner to measure complex glass and metal parts.
Communicate with Suppliers as it pertains to the quality of the components being supplied
Travel for customer or Supplier visits, up to 10% within the US or InternationalEssential Functions:

Know the 4 key points of the Quality Management System (QMS).
Be able to read, understand, and follow the current Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions.
Perform other duties as requested by the Supervisor/Manager.

Position Supervised or Directed:
The Quality Specialist reports directly to the Quality Manager.
Qualifications, Experience requirements:
3 years of quality related work experience in a manufacturing environment
Experience as a Direct Customer Control with Suppliers or Major OEM’s.
Read and understand technical drawings, specifications, and clearly interpret GD&T.
Preferred
Intermediate or Advance Expertise to Use portable coordinate measuring machine or 2D/ 3D scanner to measure complex glass and metal parts
ISO or ASQ or Equivalent Certification
Associate’s degree
