Starting Salary: Up to $80,000 Annually + Bonuses & Per Diem

Position Summary:

As an OTR CDL-A Tanker Driver with SMC Global, you'll be responsible for the safe and timely transportation of chemical products. Our runs typically depart on Mondays from Kershaw or Pageland, SC, serving customers primarily in Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, and surrounding regions. We prioritize your work-life balance: enjoy weekends at home, with typical runs lasting 3-5 nights. While occasional 5-day trips may be necessary to meet business demands, any required 6th night will include overtime pay. We value our drivers and offer a generous $80 per diem for each night out, plus quarterly safe driving bonuses.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Safely operate a tractor-trailer for regional delivery of chemical products (Hazmat & Tanker).

Maintain accurate daily electronic logs (ELD) and submit timely reports of mileage and hours of service.

Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections; observe and report any equipment or mechanical failures immediately.

Efficiently manage routes and schedules, utilizing maps, GPS, and other routing tools.

Proactively find ways to conserve resources, including fuel, to benefit the business.

Serve as a professional brand advocate and ambassador in every interaction with clients and the public.

Communicate effectively with dispatch regarding any incidents, delays, or relevant information encountered on the road.

Strictly adhere to all applicable DOT regulations and traffic laws.

Maintain the cleanliness and good working order of your assigned truck and associated equipment.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) in good standing.

Hazmat Endorsement required (or ability to obtain; company will provide reasonable time).

Tanker Endorsement required (or ability to obtain; company will provide reasonable time).

Clean driving record: No serious tickets or preventable accidents in the last 5 years.

No DWI/DUI convictions in the last 10 years.

TWIC Card preferred (or ability to obtain; company will provide reasonable time).
