Job Description

We are seeking a Controller to become an integral part of our team! You will oversee financial activities and personnel as well as identify areas of improvement to increase efficiency.

The Basics:

Responsibilities:

This is a full accounting, hands on everything position. You are in charge of all AP, AR, Payroll, Month end close and reporting, along with other "controller" functions for a 30 person company that continues to grow. You will have a little help with some filing, etc.

Oversee and coordinate all financial activities and manage our HR with a PEO

Set controls and budgets to mitigate risk

Standardize and maintain a system of accounting records and techniques

Conduct internal audits to assess financial status

Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations

Serve as primary contact for external auditors and HR firm

Manage Company Insurance policies, relationships, and COI's

Qualifications:

Previous construction industry experience is a big plus.

Previous experience in accounting management or other related fields

Fundamental knowledge of GAAP

Strong leadership qualities

Strong analytical and critical thinking skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Deadline and detail-oriented

Growing shade sail design/install specialty contractor needs an experienced Controller for a position within our company.

What we're looking for:

Related educational background is important. Ideal candidate will have construction industry or related experience. Eagerness to learn. Patience--- you'll be working with our team to handle the financial aspects of our specialty construction business.

Who we are:

SHADE Industries is a custom designer/fabricator of shade sails and tension fabric products. Our typical customers are large-commercial (General Contractors, Architects, cities and counties, etc.), medium-commercial (Hotels, Resorts), small commercial (restaurants, etc.), and residential (usually upscale homes). We design, fabricate and install custom shade with tensioned fabric shade sails and structures. We have grown in sales each year we've been in business including the "recession" years: 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012 but have a virtually untapped market. We are located in central Phoenix and Tucson. We primarily do business in Arizona, but occasionally design and install elsewhere in the country for the right job, or we can ship product to be installed by others. We are currently licensed in Arizona and do a small amount of business in Southern California, which is planned to expand. We do not pressure people into purchasing, rather we utilize a consultative sales approach, trying to be sure we design what will work best for our customers. We are growing and need to add to our staff of great people.

Recently we have solidified some aggressive growth goals. We are currently developing a marketing plan to achieve our goals.
