3D Scanning Specialist

Job Description

Revology Cars is hiring an Additive Manufacturing and 3D Scanning Specialist at the central Florida facility where we restore 1965-1968 Ford Mustangs. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with proven technical skills, motivation, adaptability to new or changing requirements, and a unique or challenging automotive background.

Key Responsibilities:

3D Printing Operations

Oversee all 3D print hardware, including setup, calibration, maintenance, troubleshooting, utilization rate, and use-case studies for future equipment.

Manage 3D print request intake, scheduling, prioritization, and delivery of completed parts.

Maintain inventory and procurement of consumables and parts. Perform all maintenance and repairs to on-site equipment.

3D Scanning and Metrology

Perform 3D scanning of components using HandySCAN with targeting systems and FARO arms with probe and scan heads.

Execute post-processing of scan data using Geomagic Design X and Control X, including: Noise removal, mesh healing, scan alignment, feature extraction and large scan segmentation, export files for use in Catia, extract construction data such as positioned points, planes, and axes as basis for data creation in Catia.

Project Management

Manage and prioritize multiple requests and projects from internal development team members.

Monitor progress, maintain schedules, and provide status updates on intake rate versus completion rate of requests.

Establish standard operating procedures and workflows for consistent, high-quality deliverables. Deliverables are completed 3D printed parts and 3D scan data with accompanying relevant post-processing work.

Desired Qualifications:

Experience 3D printing parts.

Experience 3D scanning parts using Creaform HandySCAN.

Experience 3D scanning and probing using FaroArm.

Experience using Geomagic Design X and Control X.

Experience working with an engineering development team.

Work experience in an automotive field.

Skills and Abilities:

Demonstrated knowledge of 3D printed materials, uses, and considerations.

Demonstrated knowledge of 3D scanning and appropriate use cases.

Demonstrated knowledge of 3D scan postprocessing uses and considerations.

Excellent problem solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
