Founding Engineer (AI / Systems / Full-Stack)
Location: Hybrid – NYC preferred (3–4 days/week in person)
Compensation: $150K-200k + founding level equity
Industry: AI, B2B SaaS, Supply Chain / Commerce Tech
Team Size: <10
Stage: Seed-funded, profitable, Series A anticipated
I'm working directly with the founding team of a profitable, seed-stage startup building AI Agents that augment knowledge work in one of the largest and most overlooked sectors of the U.S. economy: wholesale manufacturing and distribution. This is a $600B/year industry still running on legacy tools and manual workflows—and this team is on a mission to change that.
They’re looking for a Founding Engineer to help build the core platform and ship real features into customer environments from day one. This is a rare opportunity to join a design- and product-led team with a clear path to Series A, backed by strong early traction and profitability.
What You’ll Do
Build and scale core software systems—from infrastructure to customer-facing features
Collaborate closely with the founder and co-founder on product direction and technical strategy
Work hands-on with AI workflows and systems (Python-based), plus a modern data and frontend stack (JavaScript, Cotland)
Solve open-ended problems with real-world complexity, and own the process from prototype to deployment
Help shape the engineering culture, processes, and team from the ground up
You Might Be a Fit If You…
Have 2–4 years of software engineering experience, ideally in startup or fast-paced environments
Thrive in ambiguous, high-ownership roles and enjoy taking big problems from zero to one
Are language-agnostic and excited to learn whatever is needed to solve the problem
Have strong systems thinking and a product mindset—able to move fast without compromising on quality
Are excited to work in person regularly with the founding team (3–4 days/week in NYC)
Have interest or experience in AI systems, data infrastructure, or internal tooling at scale
Why This Role
Founding seat at the table: You’ll be among the first 2–3 engineers shaping product and culture
Real-world impact: Your work will improve productivity in a multi-trillion-dollar industry
Fast-moving but thoughtful: 50–60 hour weeks of deep, meaningful work—no burnout culture here
Flexible but focused: A hybrid setup designed to foster collaboration without micromanagement
Clear trajectory: Profitability and early traction mean a strong path to Series A and beyond
