Join the East Texas Council of Governments as a Workforce Systems Improvement Specialist and make a significant impact on the quality of workforce services provided across East Texas.

In this dynamic role, you will collaborate closely with the WSIT Lead to develop and implement effective workforce program policies, procedures, and quality improvement initiatives.

Your efforts will ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations while fostering continuous system improvements.

As a key player in our team, you will conduct desk reviews and on-site visits to various workforce development programs, verifying compliance with policies and regulations.

In addition to compliance and improvement efforts, you will play a vital role in aligning daily activities with the state's automated system.

This involves accurately entering workforce participant information, maintaining service tracking records, and ensuring adherence to local, state, and federal policies.

You will also facilitate the creation of templates for contractor staff and provide ongoing support and training to ensure they have the necessary resources for success The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to interpret policies and regulations and evaluate fiscal data.

Strong analytical and critical thinking skills are essential, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with state agency programs.

Education and Experience Requirements: A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field strongly encouraged.

A minimum of 5 years of experience in a professional office environment, particularly with knowledge of Texas Workforce Commission programs and compliance measures, is preferred.

Equivalent combinations of education and professional experience will be considered.

Either directly, or through our contractors, ETCOG provides programs and services for East Texas seniors, employers and job seekers.

We also build the 9-1-1 emergency call delivery system, provide peace officer training and homeland security planning services; and deliver rural transportation services, business finance programs, grant writing services and environmental grant funding for the region.
