Full-Time $65,000–$95,000 per year + fringe benefits

Position Overview

We are hiring a Charter Bus Operations Manager to oversee day-to-day transportation operations, including staff supervision, fleet coordination, scheduling, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate brings leadership experience, deep knowledge of DOT and NYSED requirements, and the ability to manage a high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee daily charter and school bus operations

Supervise and evaluate drivers and support staff

Ensure compliance with DOT, FMCSA, and NYSED regulations

Coordinate dispatch, scheduling, and routing

Manage vehicle maintenance scheduling and inspections

Communicate with clients and handle trip logistics

Maintain accurate operational and safety records

Lead hiring, onboarding, and ongoing training

Monitor performance metrics and ensure service quality

Respond to off-hours needs or emergencies when necessary

Requirements

3–5 years of experience in transportation operations (charter or school bus preferred)

Valid NYS driver’s license; CDL with P and S endorsements preferred

Strong working knowledge of transportation regulations (DOT, FMCSA, NYSED)

Proficient in dispatching and routing software (Samsara, Routefinder, etc.)

Proven leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities

Available to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings/weekends

Preferred Qualifications

CDL B with P and S endorsements

NYS 19-A Certified Examiner

NYS SBDI (School Bus Driver Instructor)

Experience in a non-union environment
