Summary
As a Chief Engineer at North Wind, you will be at the forefront of our engineering initiatives, overseeing critical projects that shape the future of hypersonic technology. This role is pivotal in ensuring our engineering teams deliver high-quality solutions while adhering to industry standards and best practices.
Responsibilities
Lead and manage engineering projects from conception through execution, ensuring alignment with strategic initiatives.
Support business development initiatives, including but not limited to market/competitor analyses, business capture plans, customer cultivation, customer visits and activities, competition status/intelligence, and other test services/engineering opportunities.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including designers, researchers, and project managers to refine and enhance design processes.
Guide and determine technical direction of projects using advanced technical principles, theories and concepts including the development of new principles and concepts.
Review and propose revisions to technical solutions to ensure project goals can be achieved.
Act as an advisor and mentor to other engineers on advanced technical research studies and applications.
Maintain accurate documentation of engineering processes, designs, and modifications.
Stay abreast of technological advancements and industry trends to implement cutting-edge techniques and maintain operational excellence.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
15+ years related experience.
Background knowledge required in Civil/Structural, Mechanical, and Electrical disciplines.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with familiarity and experience using software tools such AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks, RISA 3D, STAAD, Ansys, etc.
Experience using Microsoft Office Products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, MS-Project)
Experience in the design, maintenance, and operation of wind tunnels preferred.
Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Proven leadership experience with a coaching/mentorship mindset.
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
