Caulker / Pointer Cleaner / Water Proofer

Job Description

Caulker, Pointer, and Cleaner (PCC) is responsible for maintaining the structural integrity and appearance of masonry structures by performing a variety of tasks, including caulking, sealing, cleaning, and minor repairs. This role requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety practices.

III. Key Responsibilities:

Caulking and Sealing:

Prepare and apply caulking and sealing compounds to joints, cracks, and crevices in masonry structures.

Use various tools and techniques, including hand-held caulking guns and power tools, to ensure a professional finish.

Pointer and Cleaning:

Remove old mortar and debris from joints and surfaces using appropriate tools.

Apply new mortar or cement to joints and surfaces, ensuring proper alignment and a clean appearance.

Clean masonry surfaces, including brick, stone, and terra cotta, using water, mild chemicals, or specialized cleaning equipment.

Waterproofing and Repairs:

Assist in the application of waterproofing membranes and sealants to protect structures from moisture damage.

Perform minor repairs to masonry, including patching and patching broken or damaged pieces.

Safety and Maintenance:

Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Properly dispose of waste materials.

Follow instructions from supervisors and adhere to established work procedures.

IV. Qualifications:

Experience:

Experience in masonry work, including caulking, pointing, and cleaning, is required.

Skills:

Ability to work at heights, use tools and equipment, and follow safety protocols.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand for extended periods, lift and carry materials, and work in a variety of weather conditions.
