Key Responsibilities:
1. Production Management
Supervise daily operations of the hot or cold steel rolling lines, ensuring adherence to production schedules.
Monitor equipment such as rolling stands, reheating furnaces, cooling beds, loopers, shears, and conveyors to ensure optimal performance.
Coordinate with planning and logistics teams to meet output targets and delivery timelines.
2. Quality & Process Control
Ensure all products meet dimensional tolerances, mechanical properties, and surface quality standards.
Implement in-process inspections and collaborate with the Quality Control team to resolve defects or non-conformities.
Apply lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles to reduce waste and enhance process stability.
3. Team Supervision & Training
Lead and mentor a team of machine operators, line leaders, and support personnel on the rolling floor.
Conduct job training on safety procedures, machine operations, and emergency protocols.
Maintain high levels of team discipline, motivation, and morale.
4. Equipment Monitoring & Reporting
Coordinate minor troubleshooting of rolling mill equipment and escalate issues to the maintenance team when necessary.
Maintain accurate shift logs, production reports, and downtime records.
Ensure all equipment operates within prescribed safety and operational parameters.
5. Safety & Compliance
Enforce strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards and company policies.
Lead safety toolbox meetings and perform regular walk-throughs of the rolling area.
Participate in incident investigations and implement corrective actions.
